good bass for $1500

    I'm looking to purchase the best upright I can find in the $1500 range. Anyone have any suggestions on finding a good used bass within my budget?

    You have to play them to really know what you want, but there are plenty of decent sounding plywoods out there that can be made to play very well for that kind of money.

    I paid less than that for my Engelhardt ES9 new. I have more than that in it now but not a ton more.

    Check out the Newbies link at the top of this forum. There is plenty on buying a bass including several name brands to use a reference when beginning your quest.
