Check out Essex basses. great basses, very little money. and that font color is KILLING me...

There are also MIM fenders, and they are good to. but do a search for "essex" and you will find alot of info. everyone on talkbass swears by them.

    Welcome to Talkbass.

There are a lot of good basses out there. It depends on a few things.

    1. How much money are you willing to spend?

    2. What kind of music do you plan on playing?

    3. Which bass that fits these criteria is best for you?

Number 3 might be a little tough for a beginner, finding the bass that feels best sometimes takes years and trading up the basses a few times.

If you can narrow down the first two, I am sure you will get some suggestions that are probably going to give you the best bass for your money.
