Good book on wiring?

Hi everyone,
I'm getting ready to have some fun installing new pickups and wiring on a couple of my instruments, but lack an 'overview ' knowledge of the topic. Is there a book which gives information on basic wiring diagrams, and also discusses such things as active circuits, piezo installation,etc.?
I have pretty good experience with wiring, as I was a mechanic. I've done a lot of automotive electronics, and am also a contractor, where I've installed low-voltage security systems, gate and door sensors and control systems, etc. I can read wiring diagrams.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
