No offense friend, but I think in the 45 watt range you are still looking at amps that fall in the "really small and crappy" category. I would set my sights, even for a bed room practice rig, at the 100 watt level minimum. Not only does power/headroom vastly improve, but most manufacturers won't produce anything of quality tone wise at the sub 100 watt level. I'm sure that there might be exceptions. Good luck...
  3. the yorkville X series 50 watt combo would probly do

A used Ampeg B50r of B100r would be great. If you want something to gig with, go with the B100-- classic tone and classic looks.

Rondo Music of SX bass fame sells an interesting looking 100 watt combo under their "Douglas" house brand.
Based on my experience with their other products I'd predict that this is probably a decent little beast.
