Boss BF-2 has always been the standard I base all other Flangers on. The Morley Sapphire Flanger was another of my favorites, but I'd take the Boss over that.

Yeah the Aria FL-10 is an amazing unit if you can find one.

Maybe the new MXR Flanger is good, I've not tired it yet.
  8. ibanez fl-9 is a pretty serious flanger...its got my vote

Look no further than the Boss, sounds great without losing bass and in an all metal case

I LOVE my Rocktron "Hypnotic" flange. It's got so many knobs that you can pretty much control anything in the sound. There's also a cool "Trance" mode which gives some pretty funky results. The only downside to the pedal is a pretty big footprint... otherwise I LOVE it.

FWIW these pedals are built like tanks too!

The Boss BF-2 gets my vote, simple, easy to use, and has a pretty sweet range of flanging My only problem is that it can be a bit too loud on higher notes. Avoid the Boss BF-3 though. I tried them both and the BF-3 sucked.

Has anyone tried the digitech X series flanger?

I had the BF-3, i thought it was pretty good. Tho i didnt specifically like the bass input of the unit, i just used the guitar one. Didnt lose any lows, that what im always concerned with when using guitar-based effects

Haven't done a direct comparison...But I don't feel the need to. The BF-2B is perfectly good.
