    That's a pretty disgusting price.

Imagine having to pay list price for it! :p

  4. I checked the Modulus site, it's starting price for the 4 string is 2300, roughly.

Is that the list price on the Modulus site, or street price?

You mean Musicians Friend is not infallable!? Gah. Time to find a new religion.

another case of a fantastic bass that is such a good buy used.... $1000-$1200 used for a Flea bass is what I am seeing....

Modulus raised all their list prices by ~$600 (varies a little by model) about a month ago.

But that was retail, not actually what you pay street price.

well if you figure street price is about 75% of retail, then that means they raised the street price $450...thats the way it goes. Fodera massively raised their prices last year (or was it 2 years ago) as well

Don't like it? Simple, don't buy it. I've owned two of them, and IMO they smoke about everything else I have played, including Smith, MTD USA, Benevente, and numerous others. The holy grail to get is the older lane poor equipped models, which there is one quite reasonable in the GFS ads. The seller of this one now owns my first one, and he can attest these are indeed killer instruments.

No, it’s not. But Ibanez makes a few nice basses as well.

Flea does have a quite large contract payout from Modulus though. That is the reason he left MM, they wouldn't pay him what he wanted after Eddy V. screwed them over.......
