Good places to shop/buy online?

Discussion in '[OLD FORUM] Bass Guitars, Amps, and Accessories: F' started by Danny Adair, Dec 3, 2000.

  1. I have had some success in finding bass gear on eBay, but that site leaves a good bit to be desired. I have heard other players refer to good music/bass gear sites, but I've yet to find them. If anyone has some favorite shopping/looking sites, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Danny

    Danny,

GEAR: I've had good luck at http://www.musiciansfriend.com .
Though some folks have horror stories.

I DID get burned at http://www.music123.com . They screwed-
up the finish, model, etc. I wrote `em off even though they
have a Takamine B10 in stock.

I drooled over stuff at http://www.bassnw.com for the longest time.
I finally ordered somethin' from them and they were great.
BUT, there is no provision for online ordering. Ya' gotta' send
`em a check or call in with your card.

    STRINGS: http://www.juststrings.com ,
    http://www.getstringscheap.com ,
    http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/store/ .
The last one there has NICKEL Rotosound Swing Bass sets,
    if that's your thing.

Here are some others. I haven't dealt with `em. Some
    are boutique ($$$).

    Danny,

...almost forgot  , there are a couple of helpful
sites if you sorta' know what you want.

http://www.gbase.com . Enter brand, model, etc. and it'll
search a bunch of shops (online and others).

    http://eksl-www.cs.umass.edu/~schmill/bass-rev.html .
Bass Gear Review Archive. Reviews submitted by bassists.
Broken down by instrument, amp, cabinets, strings, etc.

    Enjoy! :D
