I went to a music store in my lunch hour yesterday. I found a fretless, lined 4 string MIM Fender Jazz bass (used) for approx. 500$.

    Good price or not?

That's pretty much what they go for in our countries. I think you could haggle a bit to bring it down a few $10's, but not too much.

I bought my MIM J for a bit less than $500, but that was back in the days when the dollar was still moderately priced here (as opposed to blown sky-high as it is today). These days you probably can't get them for any less than $500 new, at least where I live you can't.

  3. We live in Europe.. American basses are pretty expensive here.. :(

But $ 500 for a used MIM j-bass is a lot of money, but since it IS a fretless.. i'd say it's a pretty moderate price..

Oh, it was USED? In that case: no way man, that really is too expensive!

  5. Hmm.. actually.. oysterman.. you have got a point there.. i mean.. my MIM jazzbass was 1395 guilders, that's about $ 571 hmm.. all depends on how the jazzbass looks and sounds ofcourse..
