Couldn't find any threads for this specifically so I guess I'll start one.

I was listening to "Face of Melinda" by Opeth today. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWtqeNie1Rk)
I was thinking "there is so much stuff out there to listen to!"

Anyone have some favorite albums with killer fretless they'd like to share?

Albums please. If you mention artist please be specific with an album.

    Merry Christmas!

These guys are pretty cool. Speaking of bands from Norway with awesome fretless bass...

    You checked out Spiral Architect's - A Sceptic's Universe?

  5. The Mars Volta - De Loused in the Comatorium has some fretless in it, but not a ton... I haven't listened to it in a while, but at least a couple songs are played with a fretless.

Adrian Belew's Lone Rhino album is sort of prog, and has some stellar fretless bass playing by J. Clifton Mayhugh.
  16. Well, if you like Opeth, look for Beyond Creation. Their bassist is a fretless ninja. :ninja:

Those guys are awesome, I have one of there "1 in 1000 albums" printed.

2 out of those three are on my top 5 album list of all time. Haven't heard of the first one though checking it out now.

Excited for the Tony Levin Album.

Thanks guys! You are going to keep me busy for a few days. Hopefully we all are able to find something new from this thread!

I'm going to have to add a few here too...

    Attention Deficit - Attention Deficit
    -The Idiot King
Control Denied - The Fragile Art of Existence

I appreciate it when the players can actually intonate somewhat decently...

Idiot King is awesome, I'd also nominate Porcupine Tree's earlier records when Colin Edwin used a fretless Wal for most of their stuff.
