Hey everyone. I just purchased the Darkglass Alpha Omega 900 and am looking for a good 8x10 to go with it. I’m playing a lot of punk, hardcore, grindcore, doom, and am currently in a metalcore band. I was thinking an Orange 8x10 as a lot of bands that I have mixed use them. But, I have also heard good things about Ampeg and Mesa. I like lots of fat lows and high end attack. I usually play with some slight overdrive for extra attack and possibly some fuzz.

for punk it needs to used and have most of the tolex stripped off.

otherwise any one of them should be great, as long as you keep any horns or tweeters turned off.

Not an inexpensive option but a barefaced 810, even a 610 could get you into the ballpark of what you're looking for.
I have a pair of barefaced four10's and they're wicked good for loud, fat bass and there are plenty of highs for being a cab without a tweeter. They sit in a mix very well with the two projects I'm in, a original metal / punk / groove band and a metal cover band.
I'm powering my rig with a d800 and using a b3k inline to get more top end that is lacking from the d800.
    I have headroom for days!
And in comparison to an ampeg 810 the barefaced cabs blow the ampeg away in terms of clarity, especially in a band mix when I start playing notes on the higher strings. The notes disappear in the mix on the ampeg and are nice and bright with the four10's
