My tweeter on my TNT was blown, so I took it out tonight.

What are some good replacement tweeters? Or are tweeters tweeters?

Carvin wants $50 for a tweeter, which sounds like a bit much to me...

    So, what else is there?

I added a tweeter to my TKO (an old one -1x15" 75W@8ohms-) and used an inexpensive Motorola piezo tweeter that costed $15 and sounds amazing. Accodring to its specs, this one is capable of handling up to 150W (I think it has to be the proportional trebble part of 150W as I'm sure this would have blown up if I didn't put the condenser in between). Paying $50 for a tweeter on a cheap combo is not reasonable for me. Besides you wouldn't be able to notice the difference between that Carvin horn and my modest Motorola. On the other hand I noticed differences in sound depending on the capacitor I used for filtering out the low frequencies (took me some time to find the right one). But your case is different as your combo was born with a tweeter so it has to have some crossover circuitry (or just a capacitor -my Hartke 4.5XL cab does-) for that purpose.

I highly recommend the Peerless mentioned above. Excellent tweeter.
