Merry Christmas TB'ers! My father is looking to sell one of his saxes, and I'm trying to help him find a good online store (other than EBay or Gumtree) to list it on. If it was a Bass I'd use TB naturally! Its a 1928 Conn Crossbar, complete with an original mouthpiece - quite a collectors item. He used this sax for a lot of his big band / dance band stuff however as he's developed Macular Degeneration and can't read anymore he doesn't get to use it as much. Plus he's nearly 80 and lugging an instrument of that size and weight is a bit much for him these days. Nothin' good about gettin old! Can anyone point me in the direction of a site that specializes in vintage collectible instruments that he could list it on? Nothing against Ebay or Gumtree, Im just trying to find out if there's a site more likely to have the kind of potential buyer out there. Thanks!!!
TalkSax.com... just make sure you don't misspell it or it will take you to entirely different site...
Thanks - but it doesn't seem to be online (DNS lookup fail) and I get no hits googling......any other suggestions?
Saxontheweb requires you to be a participating member for some time before you are allowed to sell anything there.
Actually, lately they have been getting more restrictive on new members. It is a forum for sharing sax and WW information, with the marketplace as an added perk for members in good standing - regardless of how awesome a deal a new member may be willing to cut to make a sale. Maybe contact https://junkdude.com/ and see if he is interested?
