Can anyone reccomend any good slow emotive songs on bass?
Still got the blues - Gary Moore
Linda Ronstadt's version of, "Crazy," on her album, "Hasten Down The Wind." It's so slow it's almost backwards, but it's sooo smooth.
Also, "Punch Drunk," on Sade's album, "Promise." Very nice, slow instrumental tune. Sounds like something you'd hear a band play at the end of a long night.
True Devotion - EW&F
Time After Time - Cyndi Lauper
Lady in Red - Chris DeBurgh
'Soul To Squeeze' by the Chili Peppers. IMO, it's one of Flea's best.
"I Ain't Got Nothin' But the Blues"
Robben Ford version.
One of my favorite tunes. Thanks for mentioning it.
How could anyone forget this one?
"Something" by The Beatles
Beth - by kiss
"Dance with Me" Orleans (70s one hit wonder).
Sorta slow, but a beautiful bass line.
"Mama I'm comin home" Ozzy.
Tasty fretless, mmm, mmm.
"Hold on to my Heart" by W.A.S.P.
I'm not kidding.
All the jazz ones came to mind first.......
Sweet Soul - Peter Erskine
Blackberry Winter - Keith Jarrett
Silence - Jarrett
Mary's Song - Bill Evans
Weather Report - A Remark you made
+1 ...the bomb.
Every Time You Go Away - Paul Young w/ Pino on bass.
Big Empty - Stone Temple Pilots
