    hey there.

i have a Line 6 DL4 that i use for my delay and looping efx now, but i want to supplement it with small footprint, hopefully cheap, delay for doing a shorter more slapbacky type delay. i was listening to the way that Tom Morello uses his delay for making his chorded stuff bigger and more dramatic and i was interested in trying to do that.

but definitely a very organic, analog sounding delay. i don't dig on the digital delay sound that much.

    any recommendations?

    thanks much!

um..... $3 and 4 square inches? that would be FANTASTIC.

didn't WANT to spend more than about $100, and i have a pretty full pedalboard so the smaller the footprint the better. it'd be awesome to find something that was like an MXR pedal sized. or smaller!

    thanks irvinz!

icarussmicarus did a big thread on the new EHX delay, search and ye shall find.

If I wanted slapback (which I don't), I would get another Guyatone MD3. But that is digital, very clean, so you probably aren't looking in that direction.

    :D

I wouldn't hesitate at all to pick up one of those new EHX units, based on the price and sound samples I've heard. A year ago if someone told me a good sounding analogue delay could be had for under $100 brand new I would have called them a liar and possibly thrown both verbal and physical abuse toward their person.

Carbon Copy? ...eh it's a little out of your price range.

I'd go for the Memory Toy. It seems fun enough

  10. Boss DM-2 is great for this, but they can be hard to find. I've heard the Carbon Copy is good for a similear sound.

Yeah a discontinued $300+ pedal is probably not what he's looking for :)
