Did anybody have good technique without ppl showing you how to play....I had nobody to show me how to play bass and one day a really awesome bass player started coming to my church....I didn't have perfect technique, but he said it was damn good....I used all my fingers, I stretched them out, I used that floating-thumb thing by chance...the only thing he corrected was my slap technique, he said I used to much motion and I should do a minimalist thing...I guess I slap like Flea, but whatever....I know there is no "perfect" technique, but you know what I mean...

  2. If you're comfortable with whatever 'technique' you use, and can achieve the sound you are trying to achieve, then, in my book your technique must be good. (At the very least, it's good for you!)
