Hey guys I'm a 16 almost 17 year old teen looking to loose some fat. I played football for a bit and am about 220 in pounds. My hight is 5'9". Thing is I'm looking to loose my fat but without using that much walking and biking etc. I ride my bike to ger to point A to B so I'm just looking for opinions on what to do besides eat healthy. All opinions welcome.
Stop drinking soda. A can of soda is 1/12 of a pound of potential fat. So cut the soda, that will help. Even just walking around the house more will help... I'm in the same boat as you, actually...
It's summer, take every oppurtunity you can to go to the beach, park on one end, and then run to the other to swim, swim your arse off, then run back.
i'm 18, 5'10 230lbs, 5 percent body fat, my solution, lift weights, work your upper body in particular and ur abs, u can find out about great ab workouts online, if u have ne other questions, just let me know, u might wind up weighing more, but it won't be fat, and u'll look better
eating less isn't the answer...unless you want to eat less for the rest of your life. eating less will cause your metabolism to slow down, making you gain lots of weight when you eat more stuff. Eat healthy things. Eating less will only limit your nutrient intake. As far as diet, going vegetarian for a bit helps a lot, but just getting the leanest meat you can find works too, as meat has nutrients that can't be obtained from other sources. excercise is really the most efficiant way of losing weight and all that, and one thing is to get a stationary bike, and put it right in front of the TV, and take away all the other seating recepticles in the room...and if you're serious, plug an electric generator into the bike to power the TV, so if you want to watch, ride the bike. Running on sand....man, I agree. that's quite excerciseful. I'm a victim of too much soda...way too much soda...but I love the stuff...I get pissed off when there's none left. and I hate excercise...and I'm eating much less lately. Do as I say not as I do. at least I know why I'm a tad heavy.
To be more exerciseful, drink lots more water and runnerize more. Three times a week, and eventually four or five. You'll be trimmer by the end of the summer.
no way to lose weight without exercise, yes if you never drink pop again that'll shed a good 30lbs (did for me) but other then that go biking a hell of a lot, like all the time, and go to the gm alot to, plain and simple, dont be so lazy, there are no shortcuts.
I drink too much soda, but I'm trying to cut back. I was 240 earlier this year, in the middle of may, but since the end of school (beginning of June), I started eating healthier, and exercising more. Down to 223/220 (depending on the day) and falling. I go swimming for 30 min to an hour each day, unless I've busted my butt in some other activity, then I usually just soak. But, I try to keep moving for at least 30 minutes a day if nothing else, be it a quick cardio workout or swimming. So, having a pool is nice in that respect, because you do work, but don't notice it as much, because the water takes the sweat from you as you move, so you're cooler overall. Oops, started rambling. I'd reccomend swimming as a good way to exercise if you have motivation problems. I myself have motivation problems, but once you get into a routine it'a easier to keep it than break it.
Contrair. Size is relative. I have a large, dense bone structure that I got from my mom in addition to being pretty strong. I'm 220 (thereabouts), but I look less than some who weigh 170 lbs. It's a matter of how it hangs on your frame, your personal size and body type. Shoot, I weight about 100 lbs more than you do, but that doesn't mean anything. Given my bone structure, I might have 70-80 lbs of bone and muscle on you. So, is that unhealthy? No. Just different (At the moment, I've got a BMI of about Members of this board have seen me, I'm not obese, fat, or even portly, I'm just big, like a battleship is big. Lumberjacks and linemen aren't nessicarily unhealthy, just bigger people. Is he (and I) overweight? Yes. In danger of anything? Maybe, maybe not. You'd need testing done on BMI and overall health to determine if he 'can't be healthy.'
im 22, 6' and weighed 285 pounds back in january... since then ive lost 55 pounds eating more... just less carbs... i didnt quite drinking pop but i used to eat alot of noodles and rice because it was cheap and i didnt have to eat that often... since then i have been eating more meats and vegeatables and havent exercised hardly at all... every once and a while i run but not enought to burn any amount of fat for a length of time.... im hoping to lose another 30 pounds within the next 4 months which is right on schedule with what ive been losing so far... so basicly less carbs... small meals... more of them... i wonder what would happen if i took out the pop and started exercising regularly... no i dont think i could give up my 64 ounce thirstbustabusta and i hate to run
Look into the Atkins diet! I wanted to lose some fat and have lost about 10 lbs in about 3 weeks. Strangely it often involves what you would imagine to be unhealthy food - fried bacon, fried eggs etc. I have also started running to help with my stamina and a bit of weight loss, but this diet has helped me just lose fat.
quit eating light/non-fat products quit eating white sugar drink water, lots of it and one glass before each meal several small meals are better than one or two big ones avoid bad fats, use olive oil for example avoid processed foods, especially fast food like french ries, burgers, pizza etc. less meat, more veggies don't eat while your doing other activities like watching tv, concentrate on eating - enjoy it! eat more slowly! don't do those magazine diets
