I'm at a bar in Jerome Arizona...a little mining ghost town turned art community....and the guy playing bass in a band called Doc Harvey's Remedy at an old saloon called the Spirit Room is playing this Jazz. He thinks it is a 69'. He bought it for $200 with a Fender Bassman Amp in 76'. Cool bass! Think it's a 69'? image. image.

It looks like a '69 - it has the TV logo. I hzve a '69 and it is a great bass. I've had it since new, but it is in a little better shape than the one you are looking at. jazz2.

  4. Stories like these are the crux of the appeal of the Fender electric bass. Whether bought new in '69 and one owner in mint condition or $200 and many owners and gigs later ,still super cool .

I certainly don't see anything that would challenge it being a '69. Both basses look great for different reasons.

They don't all have to be beat to crap...my 69 has a few dings here and there, and a few weather checks, mostly on the back. Bought from the original owner many years ago.

lovely - personally, whether BTC or clean - both work for me and comparative value would only be weighed by how it plays/sounds

  12. *SPLOOOSH!* Just the right amount of played vs. closet, although JIO's observation is correct, this one gives me a chubbie. None are without their charm and there's something hip about the first one all smacked up and the flathead screws are a nice touch;)but I just dig this one...the played/loved quotient is just right LOL

CRAZY!! Well loved, I am sure. On a side note, we will be performing at the Spirit Room on July 12th.... :)

I have nothing so cool to show off though.... :(

Actually it has it's nicks and wear. It has been played for hundreds of shows and was my only bass until 2005. The finish on the back of the neck is worn from playing, there are the necessary headstock nicks, some buckle rash, etc. a few spots on the edge of the body. i just took care of her over the years.
