Just watched the John Mayer Trio music vid to 'Who Did You Think I Was?' and now i'm GASing for the Fender custom artist Pino replica.... I know it can hardly be worth such a vast sum of money, but I'm so strangely drawn to it. Would it be cheaper get a Fender custom shop done to the same specs but without all the chipping and belt buckle rash? And would it look the same without a nitrocellulose lacquer finish? ( EDIT MM ) Sorry no GD in that form
Word!! Currently drawing up plans to have Nino build me a fretless like the Tony Franklin signature...
not to add to your gas, but the GC here in Nashville has one. It is the sweetest P, or bass for that matter, I think I've ever played. It played like butter, just so smooth, and sounded so so so so good. I couldn't believe it. I pulled it off the wall sceptical at the price tag and such......Man, was I blown away by it. but I don't think I could ever justify the $3K + price tag on it, or proably on any bass for that matter....
I condemn you to hell... jokes. But really, lol, that didn't really help my GAS at all. I wish I could try one!
It is the Status Graphite PP Signature Vintage. http://www.status-graphite.com/status/carts3/frames/frame3.htm
Have Michael Dolan make one for you! The fretless P neck he made for me is super sweet, and his prices are quite reasonable.
