I recently purchased a Korg AX1B. I just got it yesterday, so I haven't had a chance to play with it much, but I used the tuner for my gig last night! Anyway, what are your thoughts on this pedal? I got it for $60 used. Heck, just the tuner and metronome almost make it worth the money! Do any of you think that Bypass on this pedal negatively affects the tone?
It does suck a fair bit of tone. (JazzAd suggested that creating a blank patch was actually better than bypassing...) But I chain it through a Looper pedal as I do most of my tone-sucking effects. So that solves that. Apart from that, as you'll discover, you've just bought a very versatile and surprisingly efficient and clean sounding multi-effect pedal. Definitely the best buy for the buck. I believe it's still always better to get specialized pedals for effects you use very regularly. But the AX1B is the perfect single tool to handle all the rest.
It takes a bit of low and punch away, especially with passive basses. Now, it's not really a negative impact. You only notice it when you use a real bypass instead.
