got a new "best"!!

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by lucfor, Apr 2, 2002.

  1. Hi,
few day ago I bought a new Yamaha TRB5PII, (exactly as in the picture, but 5 strings), neck-through, piezo pick-ups and ovangkol top. I got it, here in Italy, for less than $1.400 (I think it's a very good price).
The sound is amazing and I realized, once again, that the best way to buy a bass is always to try as many as possible until you find the one that you feel you can't leave the shop without.
Let me know what you think about it and post me any question you might want to ask.

    Ciao,

    Luca

  5. awesome bass!

I'm planning on purchasing one myself in a few weeks!...it's no exotic wood, it's just a swamp ash body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard. I CAN'T WAIT!!!

    YAMAHA!

that's the nicest one of those I've seen to date- and I considered them nice to begin with.

  7. I would hardly call the TRB series a "beginner's instrument."

Patitucci uses a TRB-6...Jeff Andrews plays Yamaha's (not sure which one).

I think you misunderstood what he was getting at. I think he meant that he already considered them nice, but this one is the nicest that he has seen.

Wow!!! I actually have a fretless one on hold. I hope the piezo gives it a nice tone.

    Congrats on the bass!!!

Awesome bass! Can't go wrong with the company that John Patitucci, Nathan East and Billy Sheehan picks:p

Nice bass - Nick Fyfe of Jamiroquai is using the exact same model at the minute....

I wonder what it's like compared to the 'original' TRB5P?
