I got a killer deal on a nice brown burst American Fender Jazz bass today :) The bass is near mint and it only cost me $500 at guitar center! Very resonant, killer tone and I really dig the through body stringing. It's a 1986 model and has aged nicely. What wood is the body btw? Is it ash? It seems rather heavy, but definfately beefs the tone up :) Anyway, two thumbs up, it's definately a keeper and my #1 bass now..

Very cool. Congreat. I beleive that Fender used Ash on the Sunburst colors but I'm 50% sure, the other 50% is alder. ;)

I'd post pics if I had my digital camera available :) My sister scarfed it up and is using it on the opposite coast right now :p Anyways, after a few hours of jamming with this bass, I still love it :)

As it's heavy, it's almost certainly ash.
