Could push to £250 ($455.414)...I think I could anyway.

Anywayz i'm a bit of a n00b to all of this, my current bass is basically a plank, doesn't sound great at all. I want a decent enough bass, quite attractive, and if possible good for both picking and slapping. Anyone got any ideas, ideally under £200. Thanks....and try to not recommend second hand pls.

personally, i think the yamaha basses are more planks [sorry.... no harm intended].

    Gently used Peavey cirrus?
Any American-made Hamer Cruise bass you can find there. are you in England/UK?

My bias [my fundamentalism] is, given your inquiry, I am talking about used good basses that when you're done with it will sell for what you paid, or more. If you're insistent on new...... God bless, and good luck. you will need it
