    NICE Allodo :)

Now what's next, amp? Your cab(s?) is nice as it is, but you said maybe a change of that too?

  3. In this order :

    June : Warwick Streamer LX-5
    Oktober : Hartke 4000
    November / december : Hughes & Kettner 4x10 + 1x15
    Januari / februari : Akai SB1 ' Deep Impact '

and after that.. who knows.. :)

Nice Allo. Compression is a great thing. I had built in compression on my nemesis combo.. the durn thing stopped working... Oh well.. It still sounds good..

I'm gettin a rack mounted system this summer

    Carvin DCM2000
    Aguilar/ampeg/ or eden pre-amp
and you can just give me your compressor :D

  6. 12's ? i don't have 2x12 atm.. i've got 2x10 atm..

but i'm still having some doubt in this :

    set 1)
    - Hartke 4000 ( 400w )
    - Hughes & kettner 4x10 ( 300w )
    - Hughes & kettner 1x15 ( 200w )

    set 2)
    - Warwick Quad VI ( 600w tube amp )
    - Warwick 4x10 ( 300w )
    - Warwick 1x15 ( 400w )

    set 1 = 1800 euro
    set 2 = 2350 euro

so now i'm thinking.. should i pop in the extra 500 euro, and get 200 w + tube-preamp more ? we'll see.. we'll see.. i do like the warwick amps tho..

Out of the two I agree that the warwick is worth the extra... a lot of stuff hard to get over there? If you could, I'd get a poweramp (Carvin, QSC...) and a pre of your choice (Kern, Ag, Demeter, Ampeg, SWR...) for whatever cabs you like, as it is more cost effective.

  8. Cool, it's always nice to have a compressor handy...

  9. Carvin + europe = :( or $$$(!!)
    Warwick + europe = :D
    SWR + europe = :) + $
    Ampeg + europe = :)

but a top is just more proficient i think.. haven't really checked preamp + poweramp options tho..

hmm... you can get ampeg and SWR good, and both offer some of the better preamps around : IOD rocks and SVP is just as good, but less versatile. But the only thing the IOD doesn't do that the Ampeg doesn't is nail the Ampeg sound...

As for poweramps, if you can get one this seems the best route...

  11. I don't beleive you can get a very deep tone from an IOD...at least I can't. The SVP has that 33hz slider and some serious mid EQ options that the SWR can't hold a candle to. With some outboard help you'd be doing fine. I dig my IOD but due to it's lack of _deep_ sounds can't use it for my fat dub which is rather annoying as it's overall sound is so rich.

That's good to know, though I personally don't intend on getting either...

  13. Check out the FMR RNC compressor. It's purely transparent, compresses fantastically, very quiet, and cheap; 1/3 rack space. I use it when I record and it's great.

Sadowsky jazz bass ->FMR RNC compressor ->Kern preamp ->Crown K2 power amp->Euphonic Audio 2x10 cab. I take the Kern's DI out for recording.
