    howdy partnahs!

Well I'm getting back into the bass thing here
and I bought myself a jazz bass.

A friend of mine sold me his bass rig and boy
its quite a thing. I have a qsc power amp
and a preamp and a big ole speaker cabinet.

Now my friend was explaining to me that I need
a power conditioner. What in blazes is that
and why do I need it? His answer just didn't
    make sense.

What kind of cable do I use to plug my preamp
into my power amp? is that speaker cable
    or instrument cable?

Do you fellows use shorter power cable to
plug into that power conditioner thing?

    thank you kindly!

power conditioner is a good idea to protect your stuff... but it isn't necessary.... most of the power conditioners out there are really just glorified power strips... some have noise filters and such.. but most of it is more unnecessary stuff...

before anyone flames me.. i have a power conditioner with lights and an RFI flter and everything... i like it. but i know that i don't need it.

to go from preamp to poweramp. make sure you use a SHIELDED cable. Use the shortest one that will get the job done, as the longer you go, the more signal you lose. Its not a huge deal, but it makes a small difference. Instrument cables are shielded, speaker cables are not. You can also buy a short little 1/4 inch cable in the cable section of a guitar store or radio shack, but do make sure that its shielded.
