This bass is really great. Much more growl and presence than the lacewood one I was auditioning. Additionally, it's got a 2 way switch that switches between active and passive and the pickups and preamp are dead quiet. The lacewood one had a 3 position switch and none of the positions was passive. I think maybe it was a series/parallel/single coil switch. Additionally, the pickups and preamp were subsceptible to RF interferance unlike the ash body bass.

Anyway, this bass sounds wonderful. It's got great growl and a very sweet tone in all registers. The Low B is a little flabby but that's pretty typical of the 34" basses with a Low B.
