i received my clifford bordwell (cb basses) today and all i can say is awesome. here's the stats:
    32 inch piccolo bass
    pink ivory fingerboard
    camphor burl top
    mahogany core
    flamed maple back
    kahler tremolo!
kent armstrong passive electronics(i am a huge fan)
oh yeah, and only seven pounds of which two pounds is the kahler!

i have a large collection of carl thompsons, abe riveras, foderas, laklands and more and i can honestly say that this bass is definitely one of the best. if you want a quality handmade instrument then i would recommend talking to cliff. i have also talked to cliff on the phone and thru email and i can assure you that you're dealing with a true gentleman. he's a class act. check the bass out on cbbasses.com in the news section and will soon be one of the featured basses. thanks again, cliff.

I'm consistently impressed by Cliff's work. That is a beautiful bass.

Can you describe the Kent Armstrong pickup for us? Thanks.

  13. to answer a couple of your questions:

that's a kahler whammy bridge. the bar was not screwed in when the photo was taken.

i love kent armstrongs. carl thompson turned me on to them and i have them in a couple of my carl thompson basses. my favorite setup is a single passive k.a. with just volume and tone knobs. i like them because they just magnify the true sound of the bass. and after cliff tried this pickup he really likes it too. maybe he'll start using them or recommend them.

  14. Stunning instrument!
I'm a big fan of Kent Armstrongs, too.
