Hey, I just found it on the internet. I just downloaded it because of two reasons: 1.) I know I will buy the CD 2.) I know that artists usually get a lot more of money for recording a CD than of the sales. Usually they get no money from the sales (except for Pop Music) because the record company has to cover the costs for the production first. And its so great. Its just the greatest album I´ve ever heard. The only album that ever led me near a musical orgasm. Not posting anything more because of spoilers. If you want to now more, just ask. David
I'm most definately going to buy it too, no doubt. But where did you find it? I'd love to get a listen to some of the songs.
You can find the first song, The Glass Prison on Audiogalaxy (search for "dream Glass Prison"). The rest is on Morpheus, WinMX and Limewire. It spreaded pretty fast. Just great songs, but the funny thing is, that the first song starts like the last song of Scenes... ended. So its kind of a continuation of the Metropolis Story, but not really. It would take really long to tell all this
Except for "The Glass Prison", all I can find are fakes. I've tried all the systems you mention. How did you do it? (Why mislabel music? Why do people do that? What do they gain? I can't understand and it's just annoying the hell out of everyone.)
Well, I remember some kind of techno-ish blip, DT's "Where are you now", "Speak to me" and some other metal song (not DT) labeled as songs from "Six Degrees...". I didn't bother downloading the other stuff I found, since the song lengths were incorrect. The mislabeled ones I downloaded anyway came from Audiogalaxy, where you can't see the length of a song before downloading it.
Oyster, people mislabel music because they think they're doing their part to combat "evil music piracy." Or they do it just to be annoying little kids, like the vast majority of internet users seem to be. I remember when I was looking for the new Tool album, every single I downloaded was an mp3 that just played "you will not pirate the new music from Tool" and other less family-friendly statements over and over again. I'd definitely love to get ahold of that new DT album to see what it sounds like. I've heard the first song "Glass Prison," and it's pretty awesome. It's quite a bit heavier than a lot of their other stuff. Thumbs up for sure!
Yeah, tell me about it. Even if they're not annoying *little kids*, they're still annoying as hell. All mislabeling does is pissing people off, if a guy wants to endorse piracy he'll do it anyway. Oh well. The song really grows on you, I like it more for each listen. There's some points of its production I don't like, though, but there are things in almost every production I don't like. The figure played on guitar at 02:22 and on keyboard at 03:56 got to one of the coolest things I've heard lately. I don't think I'll bother looking for the rest of the songs... when I'm going to buy the album anyway, I might as well save some fun for the purchase!
I was actually thinking the same thing Oyterman. I was like, you know, it's not worth the effort and it's not like i'm not going to purchase it anyways.
Well, with the exception of 6DOIT, Misunderstood is the greatest song. I mean every single song is great and better then anything else they´ve ever done (I know every album and its simply better - so progressive). But Misunderstood really stays in my mind, kind of has a vibe like "Another Day" or "Surrounded" it´s totally different then Glass Prison. And Disappear is another great song, very Radiohead. I won´t talk about 6D0IT (the song), because it´s simply too good to talk about. More then everything you´ve ever heard in music. I believe it´s the best piece of music I´ve ever heard in my life ! David
you said you have the time lengths? Is there any chance you could list the track lengths here so i can do the same anyways?
The Glass Prison: 13:52 Blind Faith: 5:22 Misunderstood: 5:15 Don´t understand "very radiohead" wrong. It has the same vibe and a sound like radiohead. Imagine that mixed up with DTs "Space-Dye-Vest" and you´re there. Six Degrees is, again a Track seperatet into seperate tiny tracks, like A Change of Seasons. Thats all I´m saying. Its the best piece of music I´ve ever heard.
Are you sure that they are that short? I thought that the shortest track would be over 7 minutes (which none of the songs I found on the Internet, except TGP, was), that's what rumour has told me. Oh well, what does it matter, after all I'll have the *actual disc* in my tray in January.
wow, I didn't know it was that time already? anyone know the release date? I'm always eager to pick up anything new by DT
last release date I heard was Jan 29th for the USA.. Europe and other places are slated to get it about a week earlier or something like that. I, too, was under the impression that the songs would be much, much longer than 5 minutes or so... I mean, the album is supposed to be 6 songs covering two CDs.
Sorry, I forgot to post some info. These three tracks are from a promo disc and with the exception of TGP, they´re Radio Edits. The other three tracks are harder to find (FTP etc.), they were somehow "stolen" from the label. Misunderstood is on Audiogalaxy to (search for misunderstood(edit) and you´ll find it.
Yes about a week earlier. I´ll buy it on Jan 22nd... The tour here starts in Feb. and in January there is a Warm-Up Show in NY. I´ll be seeing them on February 9th in Oberhausen (I already have the tickets), and will surely post pics in misc. . David
