I am wondering what the difference between the Gotoh 201 and 206 bridges is. Is one string through and one top load? One a Fender drop-in and one not? One higher mass than the other and better tone? One more expensive or better? Please explain the differences between these two bridges.

  2. #201 is a Fender drop-in, #206 isn't

Also, the 206 allows for string-through-body setup as well.

I installed a 201 into my MIM Jazz bass, and I must say I'm very happy with the results.

I installed a 201 on my 77 Jazz bass and I think Gotoh makes class A stuff, Don't know much about the 206.

the 206 takes a bit of modification to fit, but it's HUGE, string thru, and infinitely adjustable. my soon to be made jazz bass will have one. :)
