Does anyone know if Hipshot Ultralight tuners are interchangeable with Gotoh GB-7 tuners, without any re-drilling?

  2. I believe they are. The Gotoh tuners require a 9/16" hole. You can check Stewart Macdonalds web site. They sell both and should say what size hole the Hipshots use.

Thank you. I was mostly concerned about the small set screw hole; I did go to stewmac.com, and I saw the Hipshot specs --
it does look like they are interchangeable.

I paid for all my gear myself. Well, me and MasterCard.
Yes the Hipshots are a drop-in replacement for the Gotohs, for the most part. However, in some applications, you may have to rotate the Hipshots - the tuning key shaft extends further than the Gotohs. This will only be a problem in V-style headstocks, where two tuners on opposite sides of the headstock are next to one another.
