This is a superbly built four-string from Geoff Gould’s shop. It is unique in that it was built for NAMM 2017 as a passive bass. It has the usual cavities for electronics and two 9V batteries, so it could easily be upgraded to active, especially with the plug-and-play EMG preamp modules. The body is swamp ash in a gloss pearl white finish with matching headstock. The neck is the wondrous Gould graphite with 24 frets and a rosewood board. Pickups are passive EMG MM-J’s. Controls are neck volume-bridge volume-passive tone. The toggle is series-parallel switching for the MM bridge pickup. The bass is entirely mint, with no dents, dings or scratches. The only imperfection is a small finish defect above the jack, a slightly dark spot that is under the clearcoat. The bass is very light at 7 lbs., 9 oz. and would likely be less than 8 lbs. with a preamp and batteries. Will ship in an excellent-condition molded case (Geoff does not do OEM cases or bags). Shipping is free in CONUS. Sorry, not interested in trades at the moment.

Here is a video of Andy West playing this bass at NAMM:

What is the nut width on this beauty?

With digital calipers, I get 1.60", which is between 1-9/16 and 1-5/8". This is standard for Gould.
