    How does Mel Schacher get his tone on this song? Fender P-Bass through overdriven Ampeg B-15 Portaflex? Such a phat sound. . .

    It's a similar tone to the Doors "Waiting for the Sun"

    I always liked his part on "Closer To Home".

    Every once in a while, a West amp will turn up on E-bay. The company tried to cash in on Grand Funk's success, without going very far. I think the last West I saw went for something in the $400 range. I don't know if the guys that designed the amp are still around or not.
