    I'm waiting for delivery of my EA iamp 800, and would like to purchase a graphic EQ to use with my DB so I can use the parametric EQ on the iamp for my slab (a Smith 6). I've heard talk about "Constant Q" graphics being better than your average garden-variety graphics, but I'm not really sure what's out there. Features I'd like to have if possible:

    * One rack space only.

    * Variable low-cut filter.

    * 31 band.

    * A "cut only" feature would be nice.

    * Low noise.

    * Less than $400 price tag.

    Anybody have any experience with any units like this, or suggestions of models to try out? Thanks.

    For the price-range you mentioned I would suggest either a DBX or a Rane. I just bouhgt a DBX 2231 for my PA system and I am surprised at the quality of the sound. It is not Klark-Teknik, but it does ok. If you are willing to go a little more an Ashly or a BSS is good stuff. Top of the line is KT of course. They are almost magical.
