I was the first person to see the auction amazingly...I'm surprised it lasted that long.

if this Alembic were a 34 scale, they sell in nearly 10 minutes.

  8. Those who have played and compared differently scaled Alembic basses will agree that 32" (medium) scale Alembics feel like they have a 'normal' long scale. Therefore they are more comfortable to play for more people actually...

That was my auction!!!! I knew it wouldn't last long, but Phew! That was fast. I think it was listed for about 13 seconds. L.O.L.!

  10. That top definitely isn't Walnut, it's Coco Bolo, which makes it an even better deal altogether! The buyer is going to be delighted, please make sure he pays a visit to the Alembic Club!

You may be right about the Coco-Bolo thing. It looks alot like crotch walnut, so it's hard to tell.

That's probably the first P/J Alembic I've ever seen. What a lucky bastid, snagging an Alembic for 850 bucks...

I agree. Look at the location of the string saddles and how far they are from the bottom edge of the body. They are probably 1.5" to 2" further from the bottom edge of the bass than the typical Fender bridge location. I imagine that the neck is almost the same length overall as a standard Fender neck.

  17. Hey Corey... what's shakin'? As many have said, if it was a 34" scale you'd be shipping me another bass.

Congrats, M5Yates. It's always great to meet another M5 owner / fanatic...

Insane is the correct word. I owned a '88 Dinan turbo M5. Scary fast!

I am excited about the Alembic. I've never had the chance to play one and this deal was too good to pass up.

    Thank you Corey!

    Great catch!

I had my finger on the "buy it now", but had to preserve my marriage.
