Every once in a while I'll google an Elrick, or check ebay and bassgear. I found this one this morning. Here's the standard disclaimer that I have no affiliation with the seller, except that he's a fellow canucklehead. The bass is selling for less than half price. I can't believe my head was so big to think that I was the only Elrick owner in Canada. Oh well, I probably still was the first. I wish i could get into playing 5 string... SALE! happy bidding.
Not sure why he had to post the pics with the Zon as well Grrr... That aside, looks like a nice bass for a great price...my checkbook is staying where it is though.
I've played that very Elrick bass, it originally belonged to TBer DirtyRoadCola, who was a fellow Bass Central employee with me at the time he got it. Great bass, I loved the feel and tone of it.
I'm oh so very tempted to buy this but i've never played an elrick, could anyone give me a quick description of how they sound? Are they versatile in terms of tone?
That price doesn't seem to low to me...that seems to be where there market is for an Elrick without a top. It's crazy, these basses are some of the best I've played, but their resale is terribel for whatever reason.
'99. Oh... Hey, knowing that you're out in Alberta, did you have an Elrick stolen a few years back? I'm wondering if you know the Freeman twins (Curtis and Carson). Curtis is a bass player, Carson is a sax player. In school, Curtis said he met somebody in Alberta who had an Elrick, and they had the misfortune of it being stolen. It sounds like a long shot, but I wouldn't be suprised if that connection were there.
