What do YOU think is the greatest song ever written?

Myself personally i have 2 faves, firstly 'Jealous Guy' by the late great John Lennon, and then 'Yesterday' by Lennon/McCartney.....I love both of these songs all the time, but paricularly at mo, cos' they both sum up my love life

  6. That song was written by Robert Zimmerman. Or Bob Dylan.

Dark Side of the Moon- Pink Floyd I know it's an album but all of the songs flow together like a long symphony and it touches on everything that life is about, it's the soundtrack to life/and the greatest composition ever

  12. I have 3 songs that all seem to do it for me:
    Like Suicide- Soundgarden
    Echoes- Pink Floyd
Sympathy For the Devil- The Rolling Stones

    I can't decide (like Woodchuck).

I can say, specifically, the best song to listen to while driving is The Spirit of Radio - Rush. It's the only superlative song I can list.

  14. If my life depended on choosing a song, it would have to be between:

    "Ants Marching"- Dave Matthews Band

    and

    "Virtual Insanity"- Jamiroquai

I'm almost positive Hendrix covered it. Orignially Dylan did it acoustic, then Jimi covered it, then Bob started covering the Hendrix/electric version. Cute, huh? :)

    James Gang - Funk #49

There are many others, but this tune consistently blows my mind every time i hear it....
