Let my friend borrow my rig for a while. He was having trouble hearing himself with a 4x10 when he was off-axis. Last I heard he was looking to buy a fEARful soon. No sales job, just my cabs, his ears.......kool-aid for all.:hyper:

There has been alot of talk about Greenboy cabs on talkbass and it can get confusing trying to sort out what's really true about these cabs. Truth is its best to try one out for yourself to see if it meets your needs. That's really the only way to know for sure. Secondary to that you could consider the opinion of Ed Friedland who is an accomplished working pro independent of the talkbass "chatter" who has a solid reputation and well respected opinion within the bass community.

Ed Friedland's F112 comments taken from his Facebook page:

I'd been planning a pair of F115's with custom color for a while. Just recently Paul Tollini (Scabbey Road) had a completed cab finished for immediate purchase so...I decided to give it a go (a $1200 audition!) before committing to the build. Well I got the cab a few days ago and it confirmed two things: I'm more excited than ever for the dual F115's and that I should have researched this design sooner and placed an order some time ago.

Quite simply the cab is clear, loud and punchy. That's the best way that I can describe it. Some people go back and forth over "transparent" and "flat" sounding cabs....well this is certainly the most transparent and neutral sounding cab that I've ever played through. BTW I've been using a Faital-loaded Dually for a couple of years now and that had been my favorite bass cab ever. Those Faital drivers are outstanding in their own right and actually do compare pretty favorably to the F115 design, but with the more usual peaks and valleys of traditional cabs. I've run the amps that I currently have at home (GK 700RB II and Fender Bassman 100T) as well as 3 different basses with the F115 and I can not get a bad sound out of it. Every set up that I tried was fu*king great.

In addition, I implement a lot of effects with my playing...modulation, filters, octavers, various fuzzes/distortions etc. My effects setup has never sounded so massive and inspiring. This cab has literally inspired not only how I play but what I play. I ran some older fuzz boxes through it that I hadn't used for years because they never sounded particularly good with any of my previous rigs. HUGE. I'm pretty blown away by this cab and I think that a pair of these will be the last major bass cab purchase that I'm likely to ever make.

Oh, and that green 1212/6 up there ^ is sick! Great work on that.

No need for a number. I love Greenboy's cabs! Dave Green is a terrific designer. Zero issues with these cabs, all of which were built by Joseph Hawley (jHAWK), who is a top-notch authorized builder.

My 13-pound wonder: A Crazy8. Love this so much I have three and use them every day in my home studio PA (2 for mains and one as the floor monitor). My go-to cab for coffee shop gigs:

My workhorse cab for home studio and most casual gigs is the 31lb Fearless 110. Volume is up there with a good 210 so it's more than enough for my winery gigs.

And my "stadium" cab is the amazing Fearless 210, a 46-pound wonder that gets as loud as a 410. Fantastic ergonomics. And of course the sound is unbeatable!

An F310 would be interesting. All in vertical configuration, of course. The thing is, with the volume of a 410, the F210 is all I need. Any event that requires more volume needs to take a DI feed and go through the PA. Can't stand blasting stage volume...

I'm about to add another 12/6 to the amp pile. Working with a new band that gets louder than I've been for years. I'd do a F212 but I enjoy shop time too much to let someone else have all that fun.

My 12/6 is my desert island cab. If I could afford it I'd love an F112.

Just unpadded my 18sound mid for maximum "gank". Haven't had a chance to gig it unpadded yet but will this weekend. So far I'm definitely liking it.

    Ukiah Bass:

I also have a F210 that JHawk built and I'm still tweaking knobs to get the right sound. I'm using a Walter Woods Ultra and I know you used to be a Woods user. Other cabs sounded OK with the Woods set flat, but the F210 needs to be EQ'd a lot more. Like I said, I'm still finding a sound. What's your opinion on a Woods thru this cab. I see you've gone totally TecAmp Puma - you dig that amp? I know it can be hit and miss when dealing with amps and cabs of different manufacturers. You've been thought a lot of gear too. Thoughts?

    Thanks!

Likewise, every single one of my pedal have had new life breathed into them when using my F210. That ole saw about "taking the blanket off" never ever sounded truer.
