Gretsch

  1. I have heard people say that the Gretsch Broadkaster bass is 34" scale and others say it is 30.25" scale. The website says 30.35", but other people have specifically said that theirs was 34". Does anyone know what the deal is?

The current Broadkaster that Gretsch sells is a short scale bass, 30.25 I have one of them. They have another model that's a 34" scale, model 6072-68. Check it out here:

  3. That one isn't nearly as flattering.

How do you like the Broadkaster?

Yeah, I know what you mean!

I like the Broadkaster because it is short scale and real easy to play and has a very "phat" tone, but it's a "one trick pony", you can only get one sound out of it and I like that sound which is why I still have it.

  5. I tried one and thought it a waste of money. I think an Epiphone Rivoli is a far better bass, at a lot less money, both for playability and sound.
