No its not like the XFL. Its the CFL, the field is bigger(endzones, width and its 10 yards longer), more players on the field at a time(12 a side) and there is 3 downs instead of 4. You can punt/kickoff the ball through the endzone and get 1 point. In OT the team that scores doesn't win automatically, the other team gets a chance at scoring. Its a fairly exciting game, and its not better/worse than the NFL. Its pretty exciting and you can have some really really high scoring games. Oh and Warren Moon played here and actually had a great CFL career(as well as NFL career). Theres more but I don't feel like typing it. The teams this year are Edmonton(..they suck...and knocked off my team in the Western semifinal even though we led 23-6 after the first half. Stupid turnovers) and Montreal. They've met in the Grey Cup about 3 times in the last 4 years I think. And my pick would be Montreal...obviously. (edit:damn Eskimos won )
I know But how about the ball getting knocked back into Calvillo's hands and him throwing a second pass? Too bad nothing came of it, but that was neat.
It would have been crazy if that was caught and if second passes were legal. It would be like the GREATEST play ever in the history of any sport ever in history.
I agree. And I don't agree with their decision of making Ricky Ray the MVP. Sure he finally passed for a touchdown, but I don't think he deserved the MVP. Maybe they felt sorry for him not having passed for a touchdown since September?
My buddy from high school bounced around in the CFL before he signed with the Redskins. You Canadian boys remember Mike Sellers? -Mike
I saw the highlights on Sportscenter, I thought those endzones looked enormous. And at the end, instead of a Fumblerooksi, the ball carrier kicked the ball up field.
A desperation play. Too bad AC couldn't make anything happen. I still figure he's about the best quarterback in the league. Oh, and just to add to the CFL/NFL differences, our league is older (look it up, you guys copied us) and our balls are bigger. That's right. Personally I'd say our game is more exciting, too, since it's so wide open and you get fewer chances to move the ball. Of course, the fact that most of the super-players are in the NFL means that the CFL has more chance for mistakes, leading to even bigger plays. Kinda like how college ball is more exciting than the NFL down south (in my opinion, of course). Anyway, as a die hard Rider fan, there's always next year. We just need to sign Kerry Joseph and we'll be set for a cup run. -Nate
