I just bought an old used Ampeg B2 combo, and I can't figure out how to take the grill off :(.

It has one of the older grills that is made of a black mesh material. Does anyone have any suggestions? I already tried pulling on a plastic tab that I thought would pull off the grill, but instead it turned out to be a piece of plastic trim, which I had to cement back on.

Does anyone have a clue how to take this thing off?

    Try removing the logo first.

The Ampegs I've owned had the grilles held on by Velcro or plastic snaps. You have to fashion some sort of L-shaped hook to fit in between the grille and the cabinet, turn the hook 90 degrees so it hooks behind the grille, and pull it straight off. Do it at a corner, and then pull the reso of the grille off by hand.

A heavy coat hanger wire is what I used. Make a bend about about 1/2" from the end.

    thanks for the help, guys.
to remove you first take off the logo, an then pull the bottom of the grill out, which is fastened in by velcro.

    thanks :D
