Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Pesticle, Aug 20, 2002.

  1. i've been listening to alot of metal lately and i really love that grindey tone off of bands like gwar and such... i was wondering what kind of eq settings promotes that grindey raw metal tone?

its usually a combination of boosted low mids and overdrive. sometimes distortion
  3. I've got a similar question...

I don't know if any of you boys and girls is familiar with metalband 'Killswitch Engage'... they've recently released an album on Roadrunner Records...

Anyway, the sound of their bass is quite awesome.
I love it, it sounds 'meaty' (? :), very fat and grindy also...

The CD-booklet mentions an Ampeg endorsement. Does anyone know which Ampeg will deliver this sound? Or any other manufactor?

    thanks, Bart

It's just a guess but the B5R and SVT 5-Pro have overdrive channels, so I would definitley consider those.
