Traded - Head up to NorCal.

I appreciate you taking a few minutes to take a look at my postings and hope that one of them is what you are looking for. Next up is my Groove Shoppe GS5 string bass. If you ever lusted for one of these but weren't lucky enough to grab one when it came up, well...

    • Ash body with a 24 fret
    • 35" scale maple neck (has some flaming)
    • Birdseye Maple - nicely figured fingerboard
    • Glockenklang/GrooveShoppe 3 band pre-amp (with passive tone control in passive mode. Treble knob become the passive control)
    • Nordstrand dual coil pick-ups (with single coil or humbucking switch)
    • HipShot A style bridge
    • Hipshot Ultralite tuners
    • Shipped in a HSC

I would easily put this up with Sadowsky, Lakland, F Bass and the like, in terms of just "build" alone. Neck is solid as a rock- no gaps in the pocket at all.

Finish is about as good as any I've seen. Nice low action, plays like a dream.

Nice tight and growly sound. Not clanky at all. Oh yeah, it's light too, 9lbs - maybe.

The Glockenklang pre-amp yields a lot of tonal variations. You understand after a few minutes of playing it, that it means business. Honestly, you won't want to put it down.

The Nordstrand dual coils sound absolutely fantastic. And these go great with the pre-amp. It does indeed sound like a Jazz Bass in single coil mode. I would run it next to a LOT of extremely popular Jazz style basses out there right now.

Excellent condition - she's been well cared for!

    Paypal OK, but prefer Dwolla.

    About Groove Shoppe:
The Groove Shoppe was a bass-specific entity owned and operated by David Beasley and Joel Cataldo.
David is a NY, underground, experimental bassist. He managed Fodera Guitars’ custom sales business for quite a while. Not sure if he still does. He has an intimate knowledge of both Fodera Guitars and Epifani Custom Sound and has provided R&D work for both companies.

I was thinking about these basses the other day. I've wanted one for years. Unfortunately I can't swing it right now. Free bump though!
