    Hi,

    I'm a newbie here.

There is a Groove Tubes Tube Preamp for Bass for sale locally. I haven't seen too much about it. I use Spector NS2 and Musicman Stingray basses and I like SWR (Redhead) and Markbass amps.

Would the GT Preamp put me in the ballpark for that kind of amp sound?

    Thanks,

    PC

The GT pre is exactly the same as the preamp in the SWR SM400 and Studio 220. If you do a search on those products that may help you.

    Hmmm...

The Preamp I was looking at was about $350. Considering the extra cost and weight of a separate power amp, it looks like I'd be better off getting an SWR.
