My favorite McCartney bass track is on my favorite Beatles song: "I Saw Her Standing There."

It's his take/warp on the "I'm Talking About You" bass part. It's nothing but groove; it isn't technically mind blowing or anything.

Great part is that you can pan to get pretty much nothing but Ringo and him prominently. One hell of a rhythm section, even that young.

I'm also quite partial to this little ditty. I heard it the first time, and thought it was a Jah Wobble solo song I had never heard before.

Two bass parts there. George was playing the fuzz bass line.

I'll add Nowhere Man. What a weird line---no one else would have come up with that line.

Of the Beatles songs that I play I think Eight Days A Week has the grooviest bass line.

I used to play a pretty groovy version of Back in the USSR - does that count?

Silly Love Songs is my personal favorite. Jet is cool and this one is exceptionally great:

He somewhat did. He was talked into getting back into "being a Beatle" mode and even using Hofner more and more in 87-88 by Elvis Costello.

The only tracks that have Bass VI by Beatles are Back in the USSR, Rocky Raccoon, Honey Pie and The Long and Winding Road. On some 1969 tracks Geore used Fender Jazz.

From 1966 there's a picture of him using right-handed Burns Nu-Sonic bass, maybe laying down a basic bass track for Rain which later got re-recorded, or it was just for rehearsal, but it's nothing definitive of course. In 1969 there's a picture of him using right-handed Fender Jazz Bass, I think it was during Abbey Road album sessions (he plays bass on some tracks there).

Funnily enough this part is pulled out from the end of original bass track, you can hear these fills in very end of the original mono mix fade out of the song.

    It was Paul.

The little changes in this one are crazy. If you’re not listening for it, it sounds simple and consistent. As soon as you try to play along, you realize you’re playing it wrong every time.

  19. Another cool Lennon tune with fuzz bass in the left channel, there is a little bleed through bass in the right channel too.
