grounding or shielding?

    I have a SX w/p style p/u's and wiring... getting a buzzing sound when I'm not touching anything metal i.e.tuners,bridge,strings ... checked the wiring and there is a ground wire from the tone pot to the bridge,,, would shielding help with this?
