Inspired by the "Brad Johnson your house is burning" thread, I wanted to post a similar poll. :D

Imagine you have to choose only one bass among the ones above. Which one would it be?

I have already chosen. I think that if I should "save" one bass it would be the Sadowsky Vintage 5 because it is the one I use the most.

In fact I am seriously downsizing my arsenal and have decided to keep only three instruments. The Sadowsky Vintage 5 and Fretless, and the Warwick Thumb (for sentimental reasons). And I also have a JP ZIA 6 on order. 4 basses should be enough! :bassist:

I find this thread to be cruel and inhumane, and you should be ashamed!

The GAS, oh gosh it hurts!

    Ditto on the 635.

But why get rid of them? Have you thought about their feelings, huh ?! ;)

Can't find the "keep only some JP Basses" choice

I'd keep the vintage 5 with the vintage PJ neck on it :D

    Peace, JP

I would seriously have to take two: the Benevente and the fretless Sadowsky. And, as Woodchuck and Rockin' John have already stated, "cruel" this thread most certainly is.

Unless, of course, you pick two basses...

I would put each one in a different room and choose my single one every time I entered a different room.

    Washtub bassist, I presume?

I'd go with the Benavente probably, although that MTD is the best looking one I've ever seen.

Without a second's hesitation, the MTD sixer. The one I own is awesome and I bet that one is too!

OK, Ari, first of all, you suck! :D
Err.. I mean, dang, you've got quite a collection there. I'm sunburst with envy.
And, that said, I'd take the sunburst/maple Sadowsky 5.

I would take the 635 - just because it is the only 6, and I sort of feel like 6s are my thing. :p so much for the "too many strings"-type answers (may i add that the viola da gamba, from which most bow instruments originate, among them the DB, had 6 strings and frets - so i am more "back to the roots" than those who stick with 4s :D :p )

Me too, i would like my gear list to have 3 dream basses - but unlike you, i still have vacant spaces ;)

Gee thanks... now I have drool all over my sweatshirt. :(

I refuse to answer the question. Keep as many as you can. Roger and Michael and JP and Chris can just make more for the rest of us. :)
