    Hello everyone,

    I'm new to this place.

A little background, my name is Charles, and I'm an 11 year old bassist. I started playing bass only a few months ago, because the school wanted a bassist for the jazz band.

So, I'll be around. See ya.....

The best kind of bassist around, a jazz breed metalhead. :D

Have fun, and always remember to do a search first. ;)

Yeah, so would that be Jazz fusion Metal? Or Metal fusion Jazz? Or....Doh, forget it.

Jazz fusion metal, check out Cynic, Aghora, Spiral Architect, Opeth, and several other bands, cool stuff. I started by playing jazz then got heavily into metal.

BTW, let's see if the moderators can merge the threads. :smug:

    I would appreciate that, actually.

I made the first thread, then couldn't find it anywhere, so I made another...Sorry people....

  6. eh, its all good. we all make mistakes after all. if you're going to be studying jazz, you should look into Jaco Pastorius. If you're going to be playing bass period, you should look into Jaco Pastoius. If you're going to make any sense of this place, you should look into Jaco Pastorius. Yes, we are incredible Jaco freaks around here. You might become one too. :D

Oh well, I'm metal (or so my classmates say) so I don't have to do that.

Besides, not to create any controversy here. But punk reminds me of three year olds smashing pots in their kitchen.
