Well a couple of weeks ago my Daughter and I were at a local music store and I seen this bass that I have never heard of the name hanging on the wall for only $99 so I had to try it out and after playing it thought this has potential with some light setup and a new set of flats. Well the guy there said if I come back on Friday they are doing a 15% off everything. So i thought that is what I will do. Well of course Friday comes and I stop by and it sold earlier in the day while I was at work. Well this morning as we were opening Christmas presents my Daughter comes into the room with the bass. It looks to be in excellent condition and still has the plastic on the pickguard. The bass is 1 of 120 made and it was sold in 2006. Here is the picture of the body.
It's not one of the JR Becks, is it? Date and run quantity would match. Also, their P bass has the jack on the front (J style), not lower edge. If so, you got a good bass.
That is cool as all getout! The bass looks incredibly like an SX with the Doughboys anniversary decal on it, but still very cool.
Yes it is jd56hawk. She's only 15 but she's a drummer for 3 different worship groups at our Church and she also plays guitar and keyboard. She's had her eye on this Luna guitar http://www.lunaguitars.com/acousticproduct/songparlor.php I might just have to help her get it.
I don't know anything about that brand, quality or whatever, but just going from the pic - she has good taste, too.
Might be tough, as SX pickguards usually don't follow any set standards. But there are custom pickguard makers. Your local luthier could probably make you one.
From doing some Googling, it seems ASC has a similar operation as Rondo Music, which makes SX guitars.
