Gallien Krueger for the last 12 years!
The Wailers went on after us today, and this guy was hanging out backstage. It was TRULY an honor to meet Aston "Family Man" Barrett. One of the coolest guys ever! On a side note, I'm not overdoing it, but their drummer is one of the baddest drummers I've ever seen in my life! OMG! This guy is sick!!!!! BTW, that little guy in the pic is my son.

You met Aston? (must repress jealousy!)

He is one of the true greats of our instrument. That man has more groove in his little toe than most entire countries do....

One of my friends toured with him during the 70's and said that Aston "smokes" alot more than just a mean groove! :)

He likes bass, but he puts in more time on keyboard. Oh well, there's always the left hand! As for him (Aston) smoking, yeah, there was plenty of that! He makes grooving seem so effortless.

Keyboards are good too I guess...

j/k It's cool that your son is into music! My kids are almost two, I'm not going to beat them over the head later but I have a hope that if I make it available and encourage them they'll get into music too.

He is one of my favorite bassists and a source of much frustration for me (trying to follow his pocket). What an honor, congrats.

  15. Very cool.

It really puts my sighting of our local news broadcaster in the supermarket into perspective. :)

My guitarist wondered what made him a "true great", so I put on "Trenchtown Rock" and asked him to play it like Family Man. The only thing he'd accomplished was making The List of Frustration! :bassist:
