I purchased my main gigging bass used about five years ago.It was suppose to fill my needs until I could afford a high-end bass. It's a Guild Pilot 5 string w/ active EMG's. I guess what I'm getting at is that I feel Guild had made very underrated basses. Agree/disagree __________________________________ jim obrien http://www.illustriousday.com
Agree. Well, you didn't ask for more info, but if you want my opinion, check the Guild Pilot Pro 5 bass review I wrote at the bass gear review archive.

I have always thought Guild particularly shine at short scale basses...some of the best available.
I haver a Guild B301 Bass, made in about 1979 I think. Until I recently bought an American Fender Jazz it was my main bass. Loved the sound and feel, although not as much as my Fender. Stu

I have a 1967 Starfire II. I swaped the original Harstrom pickups for humbucker soapbars which lok really nice against a natural finish. The only frustrating thing about the bass is that it is the only short scale bass I have and when I switch during a gig I am not as quick to adjust to the short scale as I would like to be. bye, s
