I like guitar shredder albums, a la Mike Varney/Shrappnel records:

An example off the top of my head:

    Gary Schutt - Sentimetal

also Tony MacAlpine, Greg Howe, Jennifer Batten etc.
  5. All the CDs I have I'm proud of, except for a few that I don't listen to anymore.

That being said; I've Dl'd some songs by Taking back Sunday, and Justin Timberlake.
  6. :D :D funny

    In my collection:

Jazz (Spyro Gyra, Rippingtons, Yellowjackets, etc)

New Age (Michael Hedges, Acoustic Alchemy, etc.)

    Rap (Mase, Jay-Z, Eminem, etc.)

Vocal (Al Jarreau, Anita Baker, Sade, etc.)

Heavy (KoRn, Sevendust, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, etc.)

Good keyboard music (Neil Larsen, Kit Walker, Russel Ferrante)

I don't hide any of it from anyone. Friends, family, bandmembers, forums, I care not what anyone thinks of my musical taste!!!!

It is kinda funny tho. I might be a little self-conscious if I had Justin Timberlake's cd, tho.... I really dig his last 2 hits...

    ;)
  7.

Don't worry Bimp, your secrets safe with me.
  8. I like quite a lot of lightweight pop, these CDs I own;

Sophie Ellis Bextor - Read My Lips
Natlie Imbruglia - White Lillies Island
    Dannii Minogue - Neon Nights

I'm even tempted to get Madonna's latest album (I like squiggly electronic sounds*, okay) or Justin Timberlake's (having downloaded most of it already). However, I don't care what people think of my taste in music. So I'm eclectic. About the only thing you could get me for is wearing a Sophie Ellis Bextor t-shirt, but *I* think it looks cool, so why should I worry what others think?

So, yeah, same boat as Bimp.

*Yes, I do dig artists like Aphex Twin and Squarepusher before anyone starts looking at me funny.

What, is the "recordings" forum full?:p

    Get out of here...
  14. These are my two and while they probably seem perfectly recpectable to some, they are totally opposite of most the stuff I listen to:

Michelle Branch - The Spirit Room
Wang Chung - To Live and Die in LA soundtrack
  15. What am I missing, this is the recordings forum no?

    This has been done before.

I'll say what I said then - no, I have no guilty pleasure CDs - why should anyone feel guilty for any music they like?

I've got some albums that (judging by other peoples responses, including when this was done before) - you guys might consider to be something to be "guilty" about:

Michael Jackson - Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, HiStory, Invincible.

(Yeah, I like MJ, he's got a great voice, and has done some excellent songs. Bop - Dangerous is a superb album, nothing to be ashamed of).

    Toto - Toto IV

Robbie Williams - Life Thru A Lens, I've Been Expecting You, Sing When You're Winning, Swing When You're Winning, Escapology.

Again, good singer, very good songs.

And I refuse to feel guilty for any of this!
  18. what bugs me about SEB is that when she was with theAudience she was meant to be this Indie cred figure, and now she's forgotten all that and become an Ibiza disco diva, with her awkward robotic dance moves.
her catty comments in the press about Kylie and Posh spice are amusing:D

I've got some Def Leppard albums,
    a Billy idol compilation,
    INXS kick
    2 Dire straits albums

other than that I don't own anything I would be embarrassed about, but i do enjoy listening to throwaway pop every once in a while on the radio- makes a nice change from the usual XFM stuff I listen to.

Man, since when did Dire Straits become a guilty pleasure? Level 42 or Simply Red, maybe.

    Boy, I feel old.
  20. Comments like that in the press are always amusing, no matter who they're by or about. :D
